Hi, I'm Lacy, the owner of Simple Fit Owensboro.
I haven't always been Simple Fit in fact for many years of my life I ate pretty unhealthfully. My husband actually got me started on my fitness journey. One of our very close friends told us about P90X so we started doing the workouts and cooking healthier options.
Fast forward 3 rounds of P90x, a lot of nutrition research later, 50lbs where gone...
At that point I'd lost all the weight I wanted to lose but had extra skin. One of the teachers at kickboxing classes suggested that I start prioritizing lifting heavier weights and lower my cardio a bit. So, I found a basic weightlifting plan on Bodybuilding.com and
me and my best friend, and neighbor at the time, started weight training 5 days a week for a year. We were blown away by our results. I didn't want to stop there.
I got certified as a personal trainer and started helping people follow a healthier lifestyle. Although I had already did a lot of my own studies on healthy eating, calories, macros. I've always loved cooking and learned how to make all my favorite's
into healthier versions. I wanted to go a step further so I went back and got certified as a nutritionist. Only to have my clients come back to me and say I'm struggling with eating properly even when I've given them a complete meal plan and grocery list.
After a couple of them asked if I would just make the food for them I thought well , I could... I started with just a few people I knew and would deliver to them. Well they would tell there friends and before you know it I was looking for a place
to build a commercial kitchen. It took me almost a year and a half to find a location, get all the proper permits, approvals, licenses, more certifications, electricians, plumbers, etc... before I was ready to open... Covid had just started when I was
ready to finally open the doors. I was very lucky that I was a pick up only business and the health department was able to go ahead and approve my opening.
